Volunteers Needed!!!

Hello Wonderful SMS Volunteers!

Thanks so much for your past generosity in helping make our Early Release Luncheons a special treat for our teachers. They enjoy being able to eat together on those days before they head off to training & meetings.

The remaining ER dates are October 21, December 2, January 20, February 10, and March 24

We are asking for volunteers to organize any or all of these remaining luncheon dates. This would involve planning a menu, setting up a signup genius, and setting up/cleaning up on those days. The PTA does have a limited budget that can be used to purchase food, and, as you know, our hospitality list is great about sending items in!

Please consider whether you (And a few friends!) could commit to one or more of these dates.

Please contact Karen Dellamaestra at kdellamaestra@gmail.com if you are willing to help with one of these dates.

New Arrivals Are Everywhere! We have two brand new Spirit Wear items available this year. Our 50" x 60" Navy Sweatshirt Fleece Blanket with Spartan logo in the corner is perfect to keep you warm during those chilly fall nights for a cool $20. And for those times you need to recharge your devices on the go, we have a Spartan Power Charger for $10. Visit our website to print out an order form: http://salemmiddlepta.weebly.com/spirit-wear.html

2017 Salem Middle School Club Baseball

Middle school baseball is not supported by Wake County Public Schools. The Salem Middle School Club Baseball Program is run by volunteers and provides an opportunity for students at Salem Middle to play competitive baseball in a league comprised of middle schools from all over Wake County. Please read below to find out how you can register.

"Registration is now open for the fall workouts and tryouts for the 2017 Salem Middle School Club Baseball Teams. The teams play in the Wake County Club Baseball League. Information about the league can be found at www.wakecountyclubbaseball.com. All students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade are eligible to play. There are two levels of play: The Junior Varsity division is open to 6th and 7th graders, and the Varsity division is open to 7th and 8th graders. 6th graders must play at the JV level, and 8th graders must play at the varsity level. 7th graders can play at either level, depending on ability. We will conduct a series of workouts in early mid October, followed by tryouts for the 2017 teams in late October. Official practice begins in February, and the season begins in March. We will make accommodations for students that are unable to attend the tryouts, or for students who may compete on other Salem sports teams. For more information, and to register, please visit the club's website at salembaseball.webs.com."

If you have any questions or need additional information, let me know.
