Riyadh hosts annually in May the events of "European Day and Europe Month in the Kingdom".

The European Union Ambassador to the Kingdom Michele Cervone D'urso explained that the European Day and Europe Month in the Kingdom was distinguished this year as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the European Union.

He pointed out that the activities aim at introducing to the peoples of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states diverse European cultures including arts, science and nature, noting that these cultures vary from state to state and each one has its own unique character.

He said that the activities were launched on May 9 at Tuwaiq Palace. Several European embassies will participated in presenting their diverse cultures to visitors about their traditional clothes and folkloric fashion shows.
